Percy L. Perry went home to be with our Lord and Savior on May 15, 2023. He was born on February 11, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from North High School in 1948 in Columbus, Ohio and attended South Carolina State. Percy proudly served our country in the United States Army and was promoted to Sergeant First Class. He retired from Defense Construction Supply Center (DCSC) and the military after 31 years. Percy was a member of Bethany Baptist Church for over 75 years.
Percy was a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He loved to run track, play basketball and football. He played fast pitch and was a very good catcher.
Percy loved to spend time with his family and his friends. He had a very special bond with Pastor Jonathan Bradford.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Imore Perry. Percy leaves behind his children, Regina Myers, Deborah (Robert) O’Neal, Carla Osborne and Kim Perry; 5 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by his good friend Deacon Leroy Lewis.
Percy is preceded in death by his parents William and Emma Perry, brothers William Perry, Charles Perry, Herbert Perry, and Emerson Perry; sister Lucinda Cooley, son Jeffrey Perry and son-in-law John Myers.
