Penny Sue Boyles, age 75 of Clarksburg WV, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Clarksburg Nursing and Rehab, surrounded by her family. She was born August 8, 1941 in Clarksburg, WV; the daughter of the late Jackson L. Boyles and Ruby N.(Swiger) Boyles Sand Griffith Posey.
Penny is survived by her sister, Karen Clayton of Nutter Fort, WV; niece, Wendy Clayton of Clarksburg, WV; two nephews, Robert Clayton and Sean Clayton & his wife, Missie, both of Nutter Fort, WV; a great niece, Jill McClure of Elkins, WV; two great nephews, Caleb Price of Clarksburg, WV and Wyatt Clayton of Morgantown, WV; two half-brothers, Jack Boyles & his wife, Mary and Robert Boyles, both of Phoenix, AZ; a half-sister, Nancy Boyles of Phoenix, AZ.
In addition to her parents, Penny is preceded in death by her step mother, Betty Boyles; a great nephew, Joshua McClure.
Penny was a 1958 graduate of Washington-Irving High School and a 1962 graduate from Alderson Broaddus University with a degree in Nursing. Penny worked for Broaddus Hospital, Charleston Memorial and the Louis A Johnson Medical Center. She was a member of the Clarksburg Baptist Church, where she was involved in the Fellowship class, Young at Heart and the church choir. Penny was also a member of the Alderson Broaddus Alumni Association, Clarksburg Women’s Club and several Bridge Clubs. She was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
