Penny Post Johnston, 56, of New Fairfield, wife of Steven C. Johnston, died on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Danbury Hospital.
Penny was born in Danbury on March 31, 1965, a daughter of Eileen (Galligan) and Kenneth E. Post Jr.
She attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School in the Class of 1983.
A lifelong area resident, she enjoyed boating and jet skiing on Lake Candlewood and was an advocate for the protection of the lake. An avid snow skier, she served as a member of the Ski Patrol. She was also an advocate of the protection of wildlife and most especially animal welfare.
She was an independent bookkeeper by profession.
Penny served as a secretary of the Knollcrest Lake Community Board of Directors and assisted her father in the preparation of the local Korean War Veterans’ newsletter.

In addition to her husband and parents, Penny is survived by a son, Steven Johnston, a daughter, Mia Johnston, a sister Lauren Seidl and her husband John, brother in law Robert Johnston and his wife Judelka, a nephew James Seidl and two nieces, AnaBelkis and Alana Seidl.
