Peggy Nettleton

(nee White) On January 9, 2021, Peggy Rose Nettleton (White) passed away peacefully in her home.  She was 94 years old.  Peggy was born to Warren Alvern and Arebecca Jane White on October 17, 1926 in Medina, Ohio.  She grew up on a farm in Medina as the oldest daughter of 5 siblings and wasn’t a stranger to hard work even at an early age.  It was in Ohio where she met her husband, Louis Nettleton, and later had two wonderful daughters, Rebecca and Kathy.

Louis and Peggy moved to Brownsville, Texas in 1954.  She lived in Texas for much of her life working various jobs that she took much pride in.  She worked until she was 84 years old and even after she finally retired, she continued to be as active as she physically could.  She never liked to be idle.  In 2004, Peggy moved to New Jersey to be closer to her daughter, Kathy.  She was always ready for an adventure and had the “can do” attitude that her family loved and admired.

Peggy was the epitome of self-independence.  She was an amazing role model for her daughters, Kathy McCrea and her late daughter, Rebecca Walker, as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Peggy was always pushing her family to be the best they could be and to never quit on their dreams.

Her later passions were playing Rummikub and Scrabble with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Peggy also had an amazing green thumb for any type of plant with which she always surrounded herself.  In her home in New Jersey, she loved to sit on the front porch watching the birds and soon became known as the “Neighborhood Waver” giving everyone who passed a sweet smile and wave.  Family was everything to her and she loved being with them as much as she could.  Her infectious laugh will be missed by all.

Preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Arebecca White, her stepmother Ethel White, her two brothers Jack and Bob White, sister, Sally Warnes and daughter, Rebecca Jane Walker.

She is survived by her sister, Net Weaver, her daughter Kathy McCrea, her grandchildren, Sean Walker, Shari Foster, Kurt Walker and Joshua Wells.  She is also survived by great grandchildren, Tiffany Wells, Kaitlyn Walker, Hailey Foster, Madison Wells, Ashlee & Makenzee Walker, Logan Walker, and Grace Foster.

Peggy Nettleton had two beautiful angels that took care of her daily, Rose Hughes and Mary Orsini.
