Peggy Lynn Wallace, 60, of Galesburg, died at 9:57 p.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
Peggy was born September 23, 1961 in Galesburg, the daughter of Lawrence D. and Patricia J. (Tuthill) Garman.
Peggy married Roy William Wallace on September 19, 1986 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2019.
Peggy is survived by three daughters, Misty Garman and Mandy Garman both of Galesburg, and Jamie Stufflebeem of Ottumwa, IA; one brother, Lawrence D. Garman, Jr. of Galesburg; and two sisters, Beth Hankins of Galesburg and Tammy (Tommy) Gibbons of Abingdon, IL.
Peggy is also survived by her 9 grandchildren who were her pride and joy Tayia Ramirez, Nia Ramirez, Mercedes Garman, Kobe Ramirez, Kalley Sandoval, Dane Nix, LaMonte Buckston, LaTrell Buckston, and LeBron Buckston; and one great granddaughter, Novalynn Tiedemann. Along with her husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her parents.
Peggy worked as a CNA for many years at Cottonwood Nursing Home in Galesburg. She also had worked at United Facilities in Galesburg.
Peggy will be remembered as a strong and loving woman who always put others before herself. She had a great heart, taught right from wrong, and honesty was always the best answer. She was accepting of everyone who came into her life. At some point, Peggy raised and cared for all her grandchildren.
