Peggy Jane Clark Roof, age 84, of New Smyrna Beach, died peacefully at home Wednesday, September 1, 2021. Born in Oak Hill to Arthur Eugene and Wilma Montgomery Clark, Peggy was a lifelong Florida resident and third generation from Volusia County.

 

Peggy spent most of her career as a dispatcher for Florida Highway Patrol. After retirement she became a CNA, helping many families in need. Family heritage was important to Peggy, and she was instrumental in helping preserve the Clark Homestead that now sits at the Florida Agricultural Museum in Palm Coast, FL. She loved traveling with her family, planning many adventurous trips.

 

Survivors include her 2 daughters, Connie (Kenny) Burkett, of Mims and Charlene (Alan) Kulchak, of New Smyrna Beach; 2 sons, Jacob (Robin) Roof, of Edgewater and Jeremy (Susy Razo) Roof, of Mims; 3 granddaughters, Magen (Dan) Constantinescu, of New Smyrna Beach, Carrie (Dave) Bon Fleur, of Port Orange and Rachel (Lucas) Jennings, of Gainesville; 3 grandsons, Jason Roof, of Mims, Keith Burkett, of Oak Hill and Andy (Stephanie) Roof, Oak Hill; 4 great grandchildren, Hunter, Kathryn, Isabella and Luca; 2 sisters, Dorothy Raulerson and Barbara Durrett; brother, Henry (Mary) Clark. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Frances and Jeanette; and brother, Albert.
