Peggy Gray, 86, of Brighton, passed away April 1, 2012. She was born January 24, 1926 in Festus, MO to Robert C. and Mildred M. (Sewald) Jacobs. She attended schools in Festus and later married Harold Gray on May 1, 1945 in Festus. For a short time, she worked at the John Deere Factory in the mid 1970’s.
She was an avid reader; especially Westerns. She enjoyed traveling and going to museums. She also enjoyed watching TV; especially Star Trek and McGuyver. Throughout her life she enjoyed making ceramics and for a time she collected glass slippers. Her greatest joy was in taking care of her grandchildren.
Peggy is survived by her children, Robbie (Dennis) McKelvey of Guthrie, OK, Jeffrey Gray of Golden and Christopher Gray of Brighton; brother, Robert Jacobs of Florida; grandchildren, Mark Higgins of Arizona, Daniel Lee Gray of Brighton and Tasha Dayne Gray of Wheat Ridge.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gerald Jacobs and her husband, Harold Gray in 2010.
