Pedro (Pete) R. Alcorta, 89, of Mimbres, NM entered into eternal rest Saturday, July 17th, 2021 at his family home surrounded by loved ones. Pedro was born on September 22,1931 in Faywood, NM, to Teresa and Florencio Alcorta. Pedro was a well-respected, hardworking, loving man. He was silly and full of life. He enjoyed irrigating and working on his ranch. Pedro also enjoyed spending time with all his family. He was very proud that he served his country and became a Sergeant in 2 years in the US Army. Pedro worked at the Forest Service, Kinley Ranch, and the mine.
Pedro is survived by six children Margaret Alcorta, Lydia Alcorta, Peter Alcorta, Mary Jo (Ricardo De La Torre), Alvina Alcorta (Harry Evans), and Diane Alcorta; 26 grandchildren, and 58 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Alcorta; brothers, Vicente Alcorta, Luis Alcorta, and Jose Alcorta; sisters Carlota Sias and Margaret Alcorta; grandchildren, David Alcorta and Donito Heath; great-grandchild, Alizandra Jasso.
