Pearl Nay
July 12, 1915 ~ April 19, 2016

WILLARD – Pearl Nay passed away at her home in Willard on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. Pearl was born on July 12, 1915 in Willard, Utah to William Thomas and Mary Edwards. She had six siblings: three brothers, William, Charles, and Lenard; and three sisters, Vera, Myrtle, and June. She was born the same day as the Liberty Bell went through Willard by train on a flat bed car. She has been a life-long resident of Willard.
Pearl attended Willard Elementary, Box Elder High School, and Weber Academy in Ogden. On April 14, 1935 she married Thomas Kenneth Nay of Ogden; their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Kenneth passed away in 1966. They were blessed with two children.
Pearl worked at Defense Depot of Ogden for 12 years, where she won several achievement awards. She was a very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many leadership positions. She loved her family very much and was always been supportive in their many activities. Anyone riding by Pearl’s home can see that gardening was one of her many talents. Not only did she win Yard of the Month twice, but working in her yard for so many years kept her young.
Pearl is survived by her children: Bonnie Dalton of Roy, and Gary Thomas (Vickie) Nay of St. George. Pearl has 11 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 22 great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great- grandchild.
Preceded in death by her parents, six siblings, and a son-in-law.
Thanks to the help of her grandson Brandon Nay “her right hand man,” Pearl was able to maintain her home in Willard while enjoying the hospitality of her daughter, Bonnie. The family would also like to thank Integrity Hospice for all their love and care.
