Pearl M. Bowden Rattler Otto, 93, Anderson, went to be with her Lord on Friday, November 19, 2004 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus-Anderson after an extended illness.
She was born February 24, 1911 in Coffee County, Tennessee, daughter of Lecil Bowden and Mary Bennette Bowden. She lived most of her adult life in Indianapolis. After her retirement in 1971, she enjoyed extensive world travel with her husband, Gilbert Otto.
Mrs. Otto moved to Anderson in 1996 to be near her family She was a library assistant at North Central High School in Indianapolis, retiring in 1971. While living in Indianapolis, she was a member of Ladies Auxilliary Police League of Indiana, of which she was past president, a 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star, a member of Ladies Auxillary of Sahara Grotto, and a member of Central Baptist Church Pearl, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, is survived by her son, Leighton Leon Rattler, Jr. and his wife, Carol of Anderson; one grandson, Jeff Ratter and his wife Linda and step-great-granddaughter, Sarah Davis, of Anderson, two granddaughters, Jennifer Rattler of Chesterfield, and Stacy Rattler and great granddaughter, Anna Michelle Rattler, of Florida and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and by special friends, Anne Bull of Anderson and Delores and Wayne Vogel of Anderson.
The family of Pearl M. Rattler Otto wishes to express deep appreciation to the very special staff of Bethany Pointe Health Campus for their constant tender and compassionate care shown to their loved one and well as the sincere concern shown to her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leighton Leon Rattler, Sr., her second husband, Gilbert Otto; her parents, Lecil & Mary Bennette Bowden; four brothers, Elmer, Trav, Homer and J.D. Bowden and her four sisters-in-law, and niece, O’Dell Scotten.
