Pearl F. Plante 60, of Cottage St. died Sunday in Faulkner Hospital in Boston. Pearl was the wife of Paul R. Plante and the late Paul Laflamme. She was born in Woonsocket, the daughter of the late Paul Wilfred and Flore (Paradis) Plante. Pearl worked for the Woonsocket School Department for thirty years as an elementary school teacher and taught in the Pothier, Citizen’s and Bernon Elementary Schools. She was also an independent sales director for The Pampered Chef.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a brother Donald Plante and his wife Elizabeth, her nephew Jon-Paul Plante all of Long Island, NY, mother -in-law Madeleine Laflamme of Woonsocket, sisters-in-law, Denise Lamoureux and her husband ,Lionel of Beverly Hills, FL, Andree Hernandez of Woonsocket, Monique Clawson of Austin TX, Irene Duval and her husband Bert of Manville, and Annette Phillipovich of N. Smithfield, brothers -in-law Marcel Laflamme and his wife Jeanne, of Cumberland, and Phillip Laflamme and his wife Louise of Manville and several nieces and nephews.

Pearl graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1971. She attended Rivier College and graduated with a BA in Elementary Education and Elementary Music. She received her Master’s of Education from Rhode Island College in 1976. Pearl was also a graduate of the Institute for Healing and Wholeness at the Rolfe Square Counseling Center, and the School of Polish Language and Culture at the Jagiellonian University of Cracow. She was a member of the St. Agatha’s, and St. Joseph’s Sr. and Manville Manor Sr. Citizen’s.

Pearl lived by her motto “Volunteerism is the heart of you and me.”
She volunteered at St. Agatha’s Parish and served on several various committees.
