Pearl (Lehnes) Wiebe, age 92, of Middletown, CT, answered God’s call on November 25, 2017, at Water’s Edge, in Middletown. She was born on June 6, 1925 in Lyndhurst, NJ, to loving Christian parents, the late Raymond Lehnes (WWI Army veteran) and Margaret McEwan (Graham) Lehnes.
She and her husband lived in Connecticut for 26 years during which they enjoyed their golden retriever “Buck” for 10 years.
For 12 years, she and her husband enjoyed their two black labs “Beau” and “Riva” who were named after the wonderful community of Beau Rivage Plantation, where they lived for 14 years.
In 2010, Pearl and Richard moved to Wolcott, CT, where they rented the home of their old friends of over 50 years, Jean and Terry Dowling. In 2013, they moved to Luther Ridge in Middletown, CT to be closer to their daughter.
Pearl was the beloved wife of 71 years to her high school sweetheart, Richard William Wiebe (WWII B-17 bomber pilot veteran). She was the proud mother of a son, Richard Wade Wiebe (married to Laurel Wills Wiebe); and a daughter, Pamela Wiebe Lehn (married to Stephan Lehn). Pearl was blessed with five grandchildren, Rosson Wayne Wiebe (married to Daisy Krakowiak), Ryan William Wiebe (married to Anna Novitnyaya), Richard Willard Wiebe (married to Jean Margaret Hernandez), Ashley Kristen Lehn (married to Edward Alfred DePeau, III), and Graham Justin Lehn (married to Kimberly Sue Rajunas); eight great grandchildren: Ava Lehn DePeau, Edward Alfred DePeau IV, Nikoli Ryan Wiebe, Nikita Waylon Wiebe, Logan Richard Lehn, Max Jordan Lehn, Sky Radford Wiebe, and Wave Milo Wiebe. She is also survived by Mary Tomilson, the mother of grandchildren Rosson, Ryan, and Richard.
Pearl is also survived by a sister, Elaine Margaret Sullivan Wolff, a niece Maureen Sullivan Wood and her children, Craig and Christine; a niece Carol Ann Sullivan (her godchild), sister-in-law, Eleanor Jordan Lehnes; a nephew, Robert Lehnes (wife Joanne and son Russell); a niece Kathryn Lehnes Cox (husband Robert and daughter Meredith); a nephew Gary Lehnes (wife Susan and sons Gregory and Kevin); a niece, Diane Lehnes (and son Christopher); a nephew Eric Lehnes (wife Susan and daughters, Alexandria and Jacqueline); and her godchildren, the “Near” girls, Nancy Hutchinson (husband Dale), Jane Nathan (husband Tom), and Wendy Lee (husband Jeff).
Beside her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Raymond William Lehnes; a nephew Thomas Ernest Sullivan; and dear friends, Emily and Bill Near.
