Pauline L. “Polly” Eason Polly Eason passed away peacefully Sept. 4, 2014, at her home in Pueblo West after long illnesses and a fulfilling life of 91 years. Polly was born May 4, 1923, in Bristow, Okla., the daughter of Clarice and Eugene Capps. She spent her early years in Oklahoma and Colorado. She graduated from Canon City High School in 1941. That same year, she married Rodney Eason in Syracuse, Kan., who became a partner and traffic manager for Wright Motor Lines in Rocky Ford. Rodney and Polly celebrated 63 years of marriage before he died in Pueblo West in 2005. She had worked as a telephone operator and was a member of Eastern Star and Beta Sigma Phi sorority and, with Rodney, was active in Rotary, the Elks Lodge and Al Kaly Shrine. During her lifetime she experienced the Roaring 20s, the Great Depression, World War II and the Space Age. In recent years, Polly lived with her daughter, Donna, and son-in-law, Terry McGeeney, in Pueblo West. She enjoyed a lifelong kinship with her family and decades of long friendships. She lived by deeply religious and moral values, and was known for her vibrant, compassionate personality, wit and laughter.
