Pauline B. Olson, 82, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at her home in Augusta, with her loving family by her side.

Pauline was born April 13, 1933 in her grandmother’s house, at 735 Utah in Butte, the only child of William and Harriett (Canavan) Borho. She was raised on the family ranch, on the middle fork of the Dearborn.

She attended freshman year of high school in Helena, finishing the rest of her schooling by taking correspondence courses from Missoula. Pauline lived on the family ranch from 1933 until 1955. On November 20, 1954 she married Carlin J. “Doc” Alt. To their union one son, C. Russell Alt was born. Pauline and Doc moved to Lincoln, Montana for a few years, until 1957 when they purchased a home in Augusta. Her marriage to Doc ended on April 13, 1978.

Pauline established a business out of her home in Augusta. There she was a master craftswoman; creating works of art with leather, embroidery, needlepoint pictures and also painting with oils. She loved to handcraft clothes as well, specializing in custom tailored pieces.

On January 14, 1984 she married Duane M. Olson in Wichita, Kansas. Together they got involved with the Capital Carriages Car Club of Helena. Pauline served as secretary for the club for many years, hosting an annual feed at her home for several years.

Pauline is survived by the love of her life, her longtime companion, Art Olson of Kalispell, MT. She is also survived by her son, Russell Alt, his wife Bonnie and their children, Kyle, Kevin, Samantha, Steven, his fiancée Tammy Qualley, and their daughter Sophia Elizabeth Alt ; step-son Kevin Olson, his wife Pat, and their family; step-daughter Melanie Shaon, and her husband John and their children.

She was preceded in death by her parents and step-son Keith Olson.
