Paul T. Batten, of Stoughton, formerly of Arlington and Cambridge, passed away on Friday October 1, 2004 at the New England Sinai Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton after a lengthy illness. He was 64 years old. He was the beloved husband of Paula J. (DeGregorio) Batten.

Born June 8, 1940, in Waltham,MA , he was the son of Margaret ( Montigue) Maguire of Boston and the late Ernest S. “Sam” Batten.

Mr. Batten attended Arlington public schools and was a graduate of Arlington High School.

Mr. Batten enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged with the rank of Tech Sergeant. He also receieved an accomadation and medal for his marksmanship.

After serving his country, Mr. Batten opened up his own cleaning company , and was self-employed until his illness forced him to retire.

He enjoyed weight lifting, basketball and had a special interest in Corvette automobiles.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his two sons: Mark P. Batten of Lowell,MA, Scott S. Batten of Stoughton,MA and his daughter Shana E. Batten also of Stoughton,MA.
