Paul S. Gurzo, Sr., 94, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Monday September 26, 2016 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ after a brief illness. Paul was born in Perth Amboy, NJ and resided there before moving to Berkeley Twsp., NJ in 2003. As a member of the Greatest Generation Paul participated in the Civilian Conservation Corps prior to serving honorably in the US Army during WWII seeing action in the European Theatre. He retired from Shell Oil Company in Sewaran NJ where his was Union President for many years.
Paul is predeceased by his parents John and Elizabeth Gurzo; his beloved wife Olga Gurzo in 2008 and his brothers Kalman Gurzo and John Gurzo. Surviving are his children Janice Lada of Toms River, NJ and Paul S. Gurzo, Jr. and his wife Susan of Bethesda, MD; his son-in-law Charles Lada of NJ , his grandchildren Brian, Christopher, Michael, Paul, Katherin and Michael and also his nephew Billy. Family will receive friends on Friday September 30, 2016 at 8:30am at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 995 Fischer Blvd. Toms River, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday September 30, 2016 at 9:30am at St. Justin RC Church Toms River, NJ.
