Paul Orvin Miksch, the son of Lettie (Perry) and Geroge M. Miksch, was born July 10, 1925 at Red Cloud, Nebraska. He departed this life on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Webster County Community Hospital in Red Cloud at the age of 92 years and 1 month.

​Paul graduated from the Red Cloud High School with the class of 1943. He served with the 1st Division, Tank Battalion, U.S. Marine Corp from 1943-1946 in the South Pacific and China Theatres. At war’s end he returned to Red Cloud where he farmed in Webster County from 1950-1977. He served as manager and president of the board of Farmers’ Cooperative Association in Red Cloud in the 1970’s. Other business interests at various times included a partnership in the Palace Restaurant, manager of Valley Bowl and owner of the Royal Package Store.

He was united in marriage with Evelyn Kudrna and they later divorced. On November 11, 1977 he married Bette Koontz McKinney and in 1978, they moved to Minden, Nebraska where he was employed at the Minden Terminal for 12 years, retiring in 1991. They returned to Red Cloud to make their home in 1997.

​Paul was a member of the First United Methodist Church, B.P.O.E. Lodge 984 and the American Legion Post #238.

​Surviving are his daughter, Paulette Miksch of Colorado Springs, Colorado, son, Marty Miksch and wife, Teresa, of Eagle River, Alaska; sister, Hazel Zalman of Red Cloud; two grandchildren; step-son, Scott McKinney and wife Tina of Littleton, Colorado;  other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Bette; brother, Orville Miksch and step-sons, Mark and Todd McKinney.
