Paul Joseph Purtell, age 92 of Manassas, VA died at his residence on Sunday, October 16, 2016. Paul was a World War II veteran and retired from the United States Marine Corp; the owner/proprietor of Manassas Pizza from 1965-1981 and retired rural route carrier USPS in Manassas. He was a charter member of American Legion Post 10, a charter member of the Freedom Museum, Inc. and a member of the AOH Father Edwin Kelley Division, Manassas. He was preceded in death by a son Patrick and a daughter in law Sharon Purtell. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Margaret of the home address sister Anne Purtell McCarthy of Johnson City NY; daughters Christine Purtell of Locust Grove, VA, Jane Sanders (George) of Manassas, VA, and Mary Elliott of Manassas, VA; sons Samuel Purtell (Jennifer) of Manassas, VA, Michael Purtell (Linda) of Partlow, VA and James Purtell (Kathleen) of Centreville, VA; grandchildren Michael Sanders (Ann), Paul J. Elliott, Kimberly Sanders, Matthew Elliott (Heather), Danielle Purtell Sims (Todd), Catherine Purtell, Courtney Purtell, Jamieson Purtell, Nicole Purtell, Joseph Phipps, Patricia Allen, Brittany Beach and Amanda Beach; great grandchildren Dylan Evans-Elliott, Hannah Elliott, Patrick Purtell, Jonathan Sanders, Emma Hargis and Hazel Zint.
