Paul J. Stapleton, 58, of 5226 Hammock Pointe Ct., St. Cloud, Florida, 34771, died Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at home, after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Born in Bridgeport, CT on August 11, 1950 son of the late Walter A. and Anne D. Stapleton, Paul was employed at Regions Bank in Orlando before his illness. Paul graduated Notre Dame High School in 1968, graduated from university of Miami with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 1972 and was a member of Delta Sigma Pi fraternity. He worked as operations manager for several banks in CT before moving to Florida with his wife and 2 dogs to start the retirement process. Paul was deeply loved and respected for his kindness and fairness by all his employees throughout the years. He enjoyed fishing, casinos, fantasy football and attending University of Miami football games. Throughout his battle he never lost his sense of humor, he gained respect and admiration of many of his nurses. He will be deeply missed by all of his dear friends and family.
Besides Karen, his devoted wife of 29 years, he is survived by his brother, Walter and his wife Claire, nephews, Patrick, Ralph, and Gregory and all their families, all of New Hampshire, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Nancy Dometios of Hamden, father-in-law, George Dometios and stepmother-in-law, Audrey Lees, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
