Paul Kessel, 83, of Oglesby died on Monday morning, January 15, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Paul was born on February 1, 1934 in Cherry to Paul H. and Frances (Tones) Kessel. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He married Carol Fues on May 10, 1963. He retired from Caterpillar, and then worked in security at Kmart. Paul was a member of the American Legion and VFW.
He is survived by one daughter, Linda Purvis, of Mendota, 2 sons, Bradley Meyer of Spring Valley, and Kendall Kessel, of Cherry, a granddaughter, Lauren, 2 brothers, Robert (Marjorie) Kessel of Peru, and Ron (Pat) Kessel of Hawaii, one sister, Marjorie Sibigtroth, of Ohio, IL, and nieces and nephews including Robert Walters, of Princeton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, on October 22, 1998.
