Paul E. Marshall, 72, of Serena, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022, at his home, surrounded by family. Paul was born on May 15, 1949, in Aurora to Edward H. and Pearl (Dossey) Marshall.

He married Moira (DeLaRosa) Olson on December 1, 1973. Paul worked as a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch, farm manager for the First National Bank of Ottawa, and a professor of forestry at the University of Michigan. Paul also worked for the U.S. Forest Service at the Medicine Bow National Forest. During his retirement, he volunteered his time to the community and many civic organizations, including, but not limited to, the Serena United Methodist Church, Serena Lions Club, the CU #2 Foundation for Education, CU #2 School Board, LaSalle County Cooperation Extension Serena (University of Illinois), and as a Serena Volunteer Fire Department Trustee. Paul was an avid arrowhead hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman, conservationist, reader, and teacher. He loved the 50s and 60s rock ‘n roll, classic cars, his family farm, and he cherished his memories in the air as a private pilot.

He is survived by his wife, Moira; two children, Ed (Stephanie) Marshall of Peoria and Katie (Sam) Olson of Geneva; five grandchildren, Jazzmin Marshall, McKenna Marshall, Victoria Marshall, Colette Olson, Paige Olson; a sister, Karen (Rob) Borchsenius; a nephew, Jim (Brooke) Drummet; and a niece, Trina (John) Vozenilek.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
