Paul E. Taylor, 87, died Saturday morning, June 12, 2021, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born in Beardstown, Indiana on June 20, 1933, the son of the late Charles L. and Melva M. (Tillitson) Taylor. Paul served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1961.
He retired from Delco-Remy, Anderson, after 31 years. He attended Oak Chapel United Methodist Church, Marion, and was a member of the Fowlerton Lions Club, American Legion Post 313, Fairmount, UAW Local 662. He also enjoyed spending the winters in Panama City, Florida, where he was a former member of the AmVets.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Carmen Taylor, Upland; children: Jack (Cathy) Taylor, Carthage; Robert (Missy) Taylor, Hartford City; Trudi (John) Parton, Alexandria; Marianne (Denise) Carter, Alameda, California; Jane Breedlove, Fairmount; David (Brinda) Carter, Fairmount; 15 grandchildren: Ashley (Seth) Stephens; Britney Taylor; Tiffany (Gavin) Dawson; Lydia Taylor; Matthew (Marisa) Parton; Brock (Sandra) Gray; Sydney Parton; Ty Breedlove; Amy Breedlove; Dean Breedlove; Scott (Billy) Linn; Garry (Leslie) Linn; Nichole (Linn) Stitt; Andrea Linn; and Laura (Darin) Tobias; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Ralph and Roy Taylor; two sisters: Nancy Taylor and Pauline Rye; and a step-son, Murray Linn.
