Gilmore City…Paul E. Dickey, 71 of Gilmore City died suddenly on June 29. 2021 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Paul Dickey, the son of Robert and Ruth Dickey was born September 30, 1949 in Fort Dodge, IA. He was raised and received his education in Bradgate, graduating from the Gilmore City Bradgate High School. Paul was a Vietnam Army veteran. He was also a farmer and truck driver for D&F Truckin’. Paul’s hobbies included fishing, visiting with friends and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed attending the grandkids sporting events as well as camping and traveling with family. Some adventures he enjoyed were Canadian fishing trips, deep sea fishing in Cabo, the beaches in the Cayman Islands and exploring nature in Colorado. There isn’t a Western he hadn’t read or watched. Survivors include his children: Dylan Hamilton of Des Moines, IA, Heather (Mike) Callon of Fort Dodge, IA, Kara (Mike) Staiert of Norwalk, IA and Brian (Bailey) Dickey of Marengo, IA; eight grandchildren: Drew, Drake, Parker, Taylor, Easton, Reeva, Gabriel and Dane. Also left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Terry, Ron, Jane, Diane, Elaine, Bob and June. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and sisters RoJean and Joan. Harris Funeral Home of Gilmore City is in charge of arrangements.
