MSgt. Paul E. “Buck” Buchanan, USAF (Ret.), 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on the evening of Monday, February 8, 2016.

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Illinois, Buck Buchanan joined the United States Air Force immediately following his high school graduation. He bravely fought for his country through the end of the Korean War and during the first Indochina War ending in 1954. Buck retired from the Air Force with the rank of Master Sergeant.

Following his military career, Buck was a supervisor with Pope Maintenance for more than 20 years and was well-loved by all of the employees. He was also a member of Friendship Baptist Church where he was a member of the Faith Keepers Sunday School Class, and served as an usher and on the Social Committee. Buck had a deep love for gospel music and enjoyed going to gospel sings. He and his wife were voted “Super Fan” in 2002 by “Singing News Magazine.” Another one of Buck’s favorite pastimes was fishing and cooking his catches for family and friends.

Buck was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Jean Buchanan; parents, Curtis and Dorothy Dennis Buchanan; several brothers; and two sisters.

He leaves his memory behind with his devoted wife, Ceil Buchanan of Warner Robins; children, Kary Eddins of Bonaire and Daniel Buchanan of Warner Robins; stepchildren, Marty Durden of Warner Robins, Susan Diffie of Macon and Doug Durden of Centerville; twelve grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Byron Buchanan of Jacksonville, Illinois; and a host of adoring nieces and nephews.
