Paul Timothy “Tim” Deford, 59, of Bloomington passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. Born November 22, 1952 in Monroe County, he was the son of Robert and Geneva (Deckard) DeFord.

Tim was self-employed, the owner/operator of DeFord Trucking. He adored his sweet loving daughter, Christina. His love, pride and joy were his grandchildren John Michael and Susan Elizabeth LaMar. He loved fishing, drag racing, I.U. basketball, riding his motorcycle, reading and he had a passion for discussing current events and politics. He took pride in his knowledge of U.S. history.

Tim served his country with the 101st Airborne Division, Rigger Section, First Special Forces Group. He was a member of the American Legion Post #18. He attended Arlington United Methodist Church. He was married to Brenda Hardy for 35 years. Survivors include his loving daughter, Christina LaMar (John), grandchildren, John Michael and Susan Elizabeth LaMar all of Bloomington, two brothers, Michael DeFord (Beverly), Jeffrey DeFord, and his long time loving friend, Jean Westfall. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Douglas A. Deford.
