Paul Alfredo Montoya, 53, lifelong resident passed away December 7, 2018. Born to parents, Louise Otero Montoya and Alfredo Montoya Jr.
Paul meet the love of his life, Monette Gutierrez Montoya, and married on December 2018. His survived by their children, Joshua Montoya and Cabrini Montoya; sister, Bridget Spedalieri, husband Bobby Spedalieri; nephews, Robert Spedalieri Jr, Chris Spedalieri (Vanessa); great-nephews, Noah and Nico.
Paul is preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfredo Montoya Sr. and Anna Marie Garcia Montoya, Jose I. Otero and Brigida (Bridget) Otero.
Academic Accomplishments: Paul Montoya graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1983 and in 1985 from New Mexico Highlands University with a degree in Science /Electrical Technology. Paul also held certifications from the United States Department Transportation, Federal Railroad Administration in Signal Highway-Rail Crossing along with Signal Highway Grade Crossing
Career/Positions Held: Paul Montoya held a management position at the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission where he retired in 2014 as Manager of the Investigation Unit of the State Rail Program. Paul was recognized for his outstanding ability to oversee and manage programs with great success. His family and friends will remember him for his Heart of Gold as Paul always gave 110% percent of himself.
Paul’s will be remembered for his love for fishing comes from his early childhood as he would compete to see who would catch the first fish; to his great campfire stories of hunting with his father, family and friends. Along with his famous food dishes and keen BBQ skills that he would always share and bring to the table.
