Paul A. Roell, 81, of Elkhart, passed away Monday evening, July 31, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Paul was born on March 21, 1936, in Beech Grove, Indiana to the late Robert H. and Leona (Stegman) Roell.
He married Patty Martin on Nov. 27, 1992, Patty survives, as well as seven children; Paul B. (Brenda) Roell, Tammy J. Ferguson, Sallie M. (Bob) Fisher, Dizzy A. (LeRoy) Stewart, Walter A. (Rebecca) Roell, Penny L. (Scott) Norwood and Lisa R. (Danny) Riffle; 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; brothers, Robert L. Roell Sr, Tim Roell and his twin sister Pauline Weeks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Julia M. (Kent), 3 brothers, Leo, Bill, Joe Roell and sisters, Lucille Hines and Marina Styer.
Paul started working for GTE in 1968 and retired from Verizon after 25 years of service.
He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church.
Paul was an incredible man all around, living his beliefs, loving his family, and treating everyone he met with respect. His presence will be missed, but his legacy will live on through the lives that he touched.
