Patty Weishapl (Lovelady) Galloway

Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Patty (Lovelady) Galloway, left this world on October 30, 2016. Patty was born on June 5, 1935 to Paul and Monica Weishapl in Norfolk, Nebraska. She attended Olwein High School, where she was a star in the drama department singing, dancing and acting. Soon after graduating in 1953, she moved to San Diego, California where she worked as a dance instructor and was an aspiring actress. There she met and married Graham Lovelady and they had four children. After their divorce, Patty was a single mother, and worked as secretary, real estate agent and portrait artist at Disneyland. An artist at heart, she loved to paint and was involved in many plays with the local college and community playhouses as both an actress and as a producer.

Years later Patty met the love of her life, Eric Galloway, a professional band leader from England. Together, they owned and operated Galloway’s Gallery of Glass in Lake Havasu, Arizona. Patty perfected the art of glass sculpting with a torch. They were very active in promoting the relocation of the London Bridge to that area. They also traveled extensively to England, France and Spain.

After Eric passed away, Patty moved to Ogden, Utah. She worked at the IRS for ten years, and after retirement, volunteered for three years serving those in need in the food pantry at The Salvation Army.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her sister: Janice Laine; children: Graham (Lori) Lovelady, David (Carrie) Lovelady, Todd (Karen) Lovelady, Heidi (Steve) DeFazio, Jill Galloway Moore; twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was a cheerful, optimistic and loving person and will be greatly missed.
