Patti Bruhns, 67, of Milford passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Patricia Kay Bruhns was born on October 17, 1953, in Sacramento, CA to Earl and LeeAnna (Schumacher) Dean. She graduated from Arnold’s Park High School. Patti was a homemaker raising her three children. She was united in marriage to Eldon “Al” Bruhns on November 4, 1978, in Spirit Lake. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1994, in Spirit Lake. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Patti enjoyed taking trips to the casino, playing bingo, gardening, camping and spending time with her family. Left to cherish her memory is her three children, Kenny Branstner of Spirit Lake, IA; Derrick Branstner and his significant other Tina Cotter of Heron Lake, MN; and Chelsey (Sonny) VanLenning of Spirit Lake, IA; grandchildren Oliviah Rettig, Nataliah Rettig-Branstner, Mason, Riley ad Liam VanLenning; her mother LeeAnna Nielsen of Lake Park; brothers Dennis (Esterlita) Dean of Spirit Lake, IA; Greg (Kara) Dean of Spirit Lake, IA; sisters Jacki (Scott) Marderness of Milford, IA; Jolene (Scott) Egertson of Spirit Lake, IA; Roxanne (Pete) Sidles of Spirit Lake, IA; and Lisa Hurd of Pensacola, FL; step brother Sherman Nielsen of Royal, IA; aunt Karen (Dick) Blake of Pensacola, FL; uncle Don (Carol) Schumacher of California; special friends Kirk Schroeder of Milford, IA; and Dave Kuperus of Milford, IA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, stepfather Harry Nielsen, husband Al, sister Barb Mills, brother-in-law Don Mills, sister-in-law Anita Dean, aunt Darlene and uncle Jerry God bold and a nephew Jon Mills.
