Patrick Michael Melody, 63, of Ottawa, died on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. A
Patrick was born on November 20, 1953 in Ottawa to Matthew and Kathleen (Poutre) Melody. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from Western Illinois University and supervised construction projects all over the world.
Patrick married Ann Rakowski on September 9, 1978 in Roselle. He was a member of St. Columba Church. Patrick enjoyed cycling, traveling, and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife Ann, two children, Kelsey Melody (Kevin) Orsini, of Chicago, and Brinn Melody, of Denver, CO, two brothers, Tom (Angie) Melody, of Chatsworth, IL and Mike (Peg) Melody, of Bristol, IL, and two sisters Kathy (Gary Neubauer) Jakubek, of Ottawa, and Karen Melody, of St. Joseph, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister in infancy.
