Patrick “Diddy” Fitzgerald Douglas, 50, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. He was born in Rutherford County, North Carolina. He was the son of the late James Douglas Sr. and Phyllis Carol (Frederick) Hammond.
Patrick was affectionately known as “Diddy” and had a smile that could light up a room. His friends and family adored him as he got along with everyone. Patrick was a talented barber and serviced those in many different parts of the city. He enjoyed cutting hair and playing basketball and he was very good at it. Most that knew him would describe him as fun, loving, kind, caring and most definitely a people person. Although we understand that life goes on, his home going will leave a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Patrick leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Phyllis Douglas Hammond, his 3 children, Brittany Douglas, JuJuan Douglas and Christopher Douglas, 3 siblings, James Cordell Douglas, Jeffrey Lee Douglas (Stephanie) and Reco Hammond (all of Providence, RI) as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other family members in Rhode Island and across North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his father James Douglas Sr. and his brother Michael “Tootie” Douglas.
Although he is gone, we know his spirit still lives on.
