Patricia Wade of Galien, Michigan, died Sunday morning, December 4, 2005 following a 10 month battle with cancer. Throughout that struggle she lived her life as she always had, with a sunny personality, a sense of humor and a concern for all her family and friends. She was born on a spring day in Buffalo, New York to William and Mary (Fitzgerald) Pearce.

The third of six children, she showed an early interest and talent in art and music which continued throughout her life. She married Richard Wade in 1950 and raised three boys. Over the years she worked at various jobs but especially loved running the Boarding House Restaurant in Buffalo, New York. Always active, she also made time for volunteer work. Pat taught art classes at a forensic center in Michigan City, Indiana, accompanied Alzheimer’s patients on field trips, and more recently, assisted a local church with an after school program for children. Pat had the ability to make friends easily.

She had a love of life and a strong interest in others. She was very proud of her Native American Potawatomi heritage. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard and her son, Tom. She leaves behind sons, David of East Lansing, Michigan and Gary of Findlay, Ohio, grandchildren, Alex, Spencer, Jennifer and Ryan; brothers, William and David, sisters, Eileen Lindsay and Marijean Wade and many other family and friends including special friend Bob Hamlet.
