Patricia R. Maher, age 93, of Milford, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at Carriage Green. She was born in Deerfield, MA on May 21, 1919 and was the daughter of Mary and Joseph Rubosh. She graduated from Deerfield High school in 1931and then Saint Mary Hospital School of Nursing in 1942; she received her BS in nursing from Columbia University in 1951 and her MA in 1952. Her varied experiences include staff nursing at Columbia Medical Center and Hartford Hospital. She was head nurse and supervisor in the US Navy for four years 1943-1947 and spent one year on a hospital ship. She was instructor and supervisor at the Grasslands Hospital in Valhalla, NY and the VA hospital in West Haven for six years. She finished her career as a nurse by doing private duty nursing for 22 years at Yale New Haven Hospital
