Patricia Lackie, 87, of Dallas, Texas passed from this life on Wednesday, September 23, 2015. Patricia was born Thursday, August 2, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois to William and Eva Scherer. Patricia married the love of her life Harold Ivan Lackie and they lived in Michigan. They were happily married for nearly 50 years. Patricia loved being a mother and her whole life was wrapped around her children. She loved them unconditionally. Patricia and Harold enjoyed doing ceramics and owned their own kiln. They also enjoyed their home on the lake. Patricia took every opportunity to go out in her pontoon boat to go fishing. Patricia drove a city bus for many years and was instrumental in organizing a union in Flint Michigan for the Mass Transit Authority workers. She served as president of the union.
Patricia is survived by her son, James Keith Lackie; her daughters Linda Marie Ackerman, Cheryl Lynn McCollum, Sharon Sprandel, and Margaret Kathleen Martin; a granddaughter who she raised as her own, Eva Noreen Kidder; and stepson, William Harold Lackie. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren. Patricia is preceded in death by her husband and her children Robert Dennis LaMay and Barbara Jean LaMay.
