Patricia Lucille aka Patty Lu or Pat was born March 26, 1926 (Good Friday). She was the middle child and only daughter of Jack Connelly Sr. and Olive Brown Connelly. This special event took place in Southern California, which makes her one of the few native Californians at this time.

She Shared a special bond which lasted 89 years, with her older brother Jack Jr. who was five years older. the younger brother by 9 years Ray, was 8 years old at the time the older siblings left their home. Jack Sr. parents were born in Ireland and Olives were born in Germany, What a mix! The parents made many moves to other states during Pat’s childhood, living in Indiana, Wisconsin, California in many houses and the kids called themselves “Gypsy Children”.

When Pat was three months old the parents drove and camped out because their were no hotels/Motels and travelers camped out in city parks. The trip from California to Wisconsin must have seemed endless to the poor mother. The return trip took place six years later. There were still unpaved Loved to learn piano & she loved being a 4.0 student at an all girls school she attended during WWII. After WWII was over she then attended schools in Southern California graduating in 1943. Immediately after she was married to a special person from Georgia. Malcolm G. Johnson was to be her husband until his death 47 years later. They were blessed to have three healthy, active sons who took turns frustrating their parents but they were always loved and never ended up in jail. The five seemed to have a wonderful life together.

The first son arrived 1944. when Malcolm was overseas in WWII. He was named Robert Glen after his father’s middle name and maternal great grandfather. Surprised them arrived in 1947, John Arthur was named after his two uncles and both grandfathers. In 1952, the little blonde one (after two beautiful red heads) joined the group. James Edward named after grandfathers and more uncles. Jimmy was supposed to have been a girl and wore many pink clothes but they decided to keep him anyways. He was adorned by the entire family, but he was not spoiled just grew up to fast, trying to keep up with the other two.

Pat was a very strict mother (she was raised by one) “No” means “No”, dont ask again, her sons were respectful and polite and family always comes first.
