Patricia I. Hutchison, 82, of Jacksonville, IL died Saturday, March 23, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born August 29, 1930, in Saint Louis, MO, the daughter of Walter Bernard and Stella Margaret Harter Goodenough. She married Clair E. Hutchison on June 17, 1950, in Delavan, IL and he survives.
She is also survived by a son, Gary L. Hutchison (wife, Connie) of Jacksonville; two daughters, Deborah P. Staton of Versailles and Kathryn L. Griffin (husband, Dan) of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Jason Hutchison (wife, Joy), Joseph Hutchison (wife, Betsy), James Hutchison (wife, Paula), and Evan Long, all of Jacksonville, Zachary Staton (wife, Myranda) and Amber Anderson (husband, Corey), all of Versailles, Rachel Ford (husband, Rich) of Metamora, and Megan Griffin of Springfield; 12 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan, Jaylen, Ryan, Will, Braden, and Makenzie Hutchison, Eli Staton, Lena, and Cora Anderson, and Madeleine and Sophia Ford; three sisters, Shirley Goodenough of Tolono, Sandra Corso (husband, Ellis) of Bloomington, and Diane Morris (husband, Charles) of Saybrook; a half brother, Walter B. Goodenough of Saint Louis, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John Goodenough and infancy, Bernard Goodenough.
Mrs. Hutchison was a 1948 graduate of Normal Community High School and was employed as a secretary for Urbana High School and as a legal secretary for area law firms prior to the birth of her children. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Passavant Hospital Auxiliary, where she served as a volunteer in the gift shop. She was a past president of the Jacksonville Junior Women’s Club and a former leader of their Past Presidents organization. An active volunteer for her children, Pat was a former Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader. She also served several years as the Mother Advisor for the Hester Kolmer Golden Assembly #115, International Order of Rainbow for Girls. She maintained a passion for shopping, scrapbooking, flower gardening, and traveling. And in her spare time, she enjoyed reading, watching sporting events, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
