November 24th, 1936 – April 11th, 2017
Patricia Garvin Harris, 80, died peacefully the evening of April 11th, 2017, surrounded
by family at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Patricia, or Pat, as she liked to be called, was born to Harold H. Garvin and Mary
Thelma Holt in East McKeesport, PA, on November 24th, 1936. She grew and lived the
first half of her life in Pennsylvania before making the move to Los Angeles, CA, in
1969. This is where she met her current husband, Edwin Harris, and they were married
in 1983. Shortly thereafter, Pat began training as a national and international tour
director, an occupation that would bring her great joy and fond memories throughout the
years. During her exciting career, she toured 20+ countries in North and South America,
Europe and Australia. She adored tours in New Zealand and Australia the most,

meaningful friendships that would continue well into her last years. Pat, Ed, and their
daughter Wendi enjoyed several years in their home in Lakewood, CA, before making
the move to Boise, ID in 1990, where they would stay until Pat’s death.
Pat loved keeping busy with crafts and sewing, something that became especially
apparent when her granddaughter Alexandria was born in 1994. She sewed dresses for
every occasion, and costumes for every Halloween well into Alex’s preteen years. Pat
also enjoyed tending to her garden plants, showering her cats and dogs with affection,
cooking, community involvement, decorating her yard for every holiday, and driving her
beloved cherry red Thunderbird anywhere and everywhere. Pat was a proud member of
the Mountain West Thunderbird Club, where she participated in many events that kept
her active and content. Ever the extrovert, Pat loved chatting and telling funny stories to

Pat is lovingly remembered by her husband, Edwin Harris (90), daughter Wendi Claar
(52), granddaughter Alexandria Bastet (23), and grandson-in-law Tru Bastet (22). She
will be sorely missed by many friends and loved ones.
