In all of Patty’s roles in this life…wife, mom, grandma, daughter, sister, friend, Christian…she did them all in love. Patty had a deep love for all humanity and truly believed that everyone deserves to be treated with the utmost love and respect. She had a caregiver’s spirit, so nursing was the field that she chose. Helping others was so much a part of her, it was like breathing. Patty loved to volunteer for others in any way that she could. She was involved in many clubs dear to her heart, and all of them gave her an outlet to help others. Hospice was something that truly meant the world to her. She loved the work of comforting families while they walked through this end-of-life journey. Patty was chosen as the Iowa Hospice volunteer of the year which she certainly earned. In everything she did, Patty was a true example of how to walk through life. For friends and family, she was a very trusted mentor. Patty traveled the world on numerous mission trips to help others and spread God’s love. She was an avid reader and a lover of books, especially signed by the author. Patty had a passion for photography and loved documenting memories for others. For her husband (the love of her life), family and God, Patty had an unwavering love…especially for her sweet “grands.” She gave all of us the greatest gift, a true example of a life well-lived. Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
