PENDLETON, PATRICIA ANN

Patricia Pendleton (Pat) passed away on March 9th, 2021, after a long illness. She was 85 years old.

Patricia was born in Barnesville, Georgia on December 11, 1935, and went on to live an extraordinary life. She graduated from Little Rock High School in 1953, and went on to study at the University of Oklahoma and Monticello College. She eventually followed her passion for art to the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree.  She moved to Denver in 1956 and worked as a fashion illustrator for both the Rocky Mountain News and the Denver Post – designing beautiful ads for Neusteters, Denver Dry Goods, and many other iconic department stores in Denver at the time.

In 1958 she married William Meyers, a prominent Denver attorney. They had 3 children – Patrick Meyers, Julie (Gigi) Meyers Korosec, and Lara Meyers Derr (Kurt), before divorcing in 1973. Patricia then went on to write a new chapter in her life – marrying her soulmate, Ted Lothammer, in 1976 and embarking on a new career as well. She earned her Master’s Degree in education  in 1978 from Antioch University, and the same year the couple created People House – a center for personal and spiritual growth, that still exists and continues to thrive in Denver. Patricia and Ted led many classes and workshops, and most notably co-led a nine month facilitator training program for over 25 years.  They touched many lives, and loved what they did.

Through it all, Patricia continued to also focus on her art, and eventually moved to Taos, NM where the couple lived many happy years – she finally had her perfect art studio and was very prolific and creative there. Sadly Ted’s life ended in 2003. Patricia moved back to Denver and opened True Colors Studio and Gallery in 2010 in Belmar. She continued to be creative until the end of her life, and had many, many friends.

She is survived by her 3 children, as well as 5 grandchildren – Madeline Korosec Ferrer, Sarah Meyers, Stephanie Meyers, Jack Korosec and Noah Riggenbach.
