Mrs. Patricia A. Lucas, of Bay City, passed away surrounded by family and close friends on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at her residence, age 77 years. She was born on November 27, 1937 in Flint. Patricia had a great love of music and enjoyed camping. More than anything, the time she spent with her family, especially attending her grandchildren’s events, meant the most to Patricia. Always with a smile, she was a very determined and strong woman that will be greatly missed.
On February 25, 1961 Patricia married “the neighbor boy” Ronald J. Lucas. They were married 54½ years and have been best friends for 65 years. Also surviving are three children, Shawn (Kymberlee) Lucas of Bay City and their son, Dustyn, Willie (Rebecca) Lucas of Spring Grove, IL and their chidren, Bryanna, Victoria, Connor and Olivia, and Katrina Lucas Novak and her significant other, Brent Federer of Sanford and their children, Joseph Novak and Trinity Jo and Jordan, Cole and Luke Federer; a daughter-in-law, Jody Lucas of Bay City and her children, Josie and Raini and great-grandson, Sonny; a sister, Gracia Marsh of Auburn; a sister-in-law, Dorla (Ray) Talaga; and several nieces and nephews.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Lottie Essex; a son, Robert J. Lucas on April 20, 2015; her father and mother-in-law, Russell and Josie Lucas; two sisters, Hazel Nowak and Carol Bailey; a brother, David Essex; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Gardner.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to dear friends, Clint and Sally VanSickle, special nieces, Susie Plessner and Beth Hahn and Beth’s children, Lance, Logan, Larissa and Laila, and special nephew, Del (Bonnie) Marsh for all of the compassionate care they have given to Patricia.
