Patricia A. “Pat” Daniel, 87, of rural Ashland, IL died Sunday, August 28, 2016, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was born August 20, 1929, in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Milton and Virginia Koch Sinnock. She married Donald C. Daniel on April 7, 1951, at St. Luke Church in Virginia, IL and he preceded her in death on July 22, 2015.

She is survived by three children, JoAnn Daniel of Pana, Mike Daniel (wife, Tina) of Charlotte, NC, and Debbie Pettit (husband, Rick) of Jacksonville; eight grandchildren, Jeremy, Jake, and Jenny Daniel, Chelsea and Toby Rothery, and Shawn, Chris, and Taylor Pettit; a great-granddaughter, Jordan Marie Daniel; a brother, Bob Sinnock (wife, Betty) of Havana; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Don Sinnock (surviving wife, Bettie of Springfield), Greg Sinnock (surviving wife, Kitty of Beardstown), and Virginia Cobb.

A 1947 graduate of Beardstown High School, Pat was employed as a bookkeeper and secretary for Glenn Locker and Packing Company, where she also acquired the skills in the meat cutting trade.

Pat was a faithful and devoted member of St. Luke Parish in Virginia where she served as a member of the Altar Society, the planning and building committee for St. Luke Hall, and the parish council. A talented vocalist, she shared her voice with the St. Alexis Church Choir and the St. Luke Church Choir for over 50 years. In addition, she taught catechism for several years.

She was also involved in the community and has been a member of the Beardstown BPW Club and served many years as a volunteer site manager for the Virginia Bread of Love Program. A consummate pie baker, Pat provided food for many church functions and community fundraisers. She also enjoyed working in her yard and her garden. Her favorite days were those spent with her grandchildren on the family farm.
