Pamela Hakes Brogdon, 67, Anderson, passed away on March 23, 2011 at Seton Specialty Hospital, Indianapolis after a four month battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

She opened her arms to God as he gently took her to his special place, where she can be whole, healthy and happy again. Pamela was born on July 29, 1943 in Oak Park, Illinois, and resided in Anderson most of her life. She was a 1961 graduate of Anderson High School where she was an Indianette, with the marching band and she attended the Univeristy of Cincinnati. Pamela worked for Citizen’s Bank, Wellington Real Estate, Heckaman Buick, and owner of Petals by Pam, all before retiring and becoming a homemaker. She was a member and Deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Anderson. Pamela was a past president of the Saint John’s Victoria Guild, a member of the Century Club and Tri Kappa. She was an avid bridge player and belonged to many bridge Clubs.

She is survived by her loving, devoted husband, David W. Brogdon, whom she married June 30, 1962; two daughters, Barbara Zoe Brogdon Rick Lawson and Paige Needler Jon; amazing brother, L. Bruce Hakes; treasured grandsons, Jonathan David Needler Drue and Jared Michael Needler; precious great granddaughter, Ella Sinclair Needler; special nieces; Noelle Guckien Brice; and their children, Zoe, Alex, Will and Jack and Meridith Black Steve and their daughter, Norah; special nephew, Joel B. Hakes; niece, Michelle Salyers Rich Frankel and children, Eleni, Jacob, & Max Salyers and their father, Phil Sayers; and nephew, Rob Pensec. Also surviving are countless dedicated and loving friends she adored.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lionel B. Hakes & Zoe M. Sutherland Hakes King and very special sister-in-law, Juliana Hakes. “Momma, I will cherish every moment we shared together until we meet again, I love you, your forever baby girl.” Barbara Zoe Brodgon.
