Osnee “Shorty” Gibson, 88, Fort Oglethorpe, died Sunday, January 28, 2007, in a local hospital. He had been a resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas for the past 68 years. Mr. Gibson was a Baptist and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Lee Gibson and son, Roger Smith. Survivors are sons, Gary Gibson, David Gibson, Don Smith, and Ron Smith; daughter, Ann Moore; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
