WINSTED – Orene W. Morgan, 81, died on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. She was the loving wife of the late James H. Morgan who passed away in 2009. Born August 10, 1939 in Winsted; the daughter of the late Walter and Olive (Lampson) Slater. Orene worked at Union Pin in Winsted where she met her husband and later retired from Rexam in Torrington. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and a member of the 3rd Order. Orene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her two sons, James W. Morgan and wife Jerri and Sean B. Morgan and wife Theresa; grandchildren, Melissa Craven and husband Jonathan, Matthew Morgan, Moriah Morgan, James G. Morgan and wife Katie and Kathleen Morgan and fiancé Shawn Durham; great grandchildren, Colleen, Eleanor, James V., Andrew and Ayden; special lifelong friends, Corrine (O’Brien) Green and Nancy Peters; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Laura Alderman, Annie Alderman and Helen Benedict. The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at Cherry Brook in Canton especially LaToya, Lydia, Lenore, Melanie, Mary and Kristen. A Mass of Remembrance will be said at the Sunday, August 8, 2021 St Joseph Church, Winsted 8 AM Mass.
