Oren C. “Red” Davis, 65, of Three Oaks, Michigan, died Thursday night, January 18, 2007 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend, Indiana.Red was born November 24, 1941 in LaPorte, Indiana to Ralph and Henrietta (Hock) Davis. He attended Three Oaks High School and lived in Three Oaks most of his life. Red served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On June 16, 1965, he married Joyce Delph in Crown Pointe, Indiana and was employed by National Steel in Portage, Indiana before retiring. Red enjoyed bowling, hunting, spending time outdoors, and fishing whenever he got the chance.

Red liked things done right, whether he was plastering a wall or mowing the lawn, he paid attention to detail. He was a member of the Randall Couchman American Legion Post # 204, Three Oaks. Red loved having family around and was affectionately known as Popeye by his grandchildren.Survivors include his wife, Joyce; children, Levoda Kieth of Three Oaks; Bobby (Tina) Delph of Hobart, Indiana; Johnny (Daneice) Delph of Portage; Billy Joe (Amy) Delph of Portage and Melissa Davis of Three Oaks; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Michael, Jillian, Oren, Travis, Haley, Hanna and Leah and his great granddaughter, Margaret. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his sister, Mary Jo Jacobs.
