Ora Willene Overstreet, 89, completed her life’s journey on August, 30, 2014 in her home, secure in the knowledge that she would spend eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Willene was born on February 18, 1925 in Birmingham, Alabama to Bethel and Willie Philpot Greer. In 1942, she married the love of her life, Lincoln Park (“L.P.”) Overstreet who preceded her in death, as did her beloved grandson, Jonathan Webb. Willene, or “Mimi”, as her grandchildren called her, was a true Proverbs 31 woman. Her passions in life were her faith and her family. She is survived by her daughter, Dianne Webb (Mike) of Newnan; her son, Lynn Overstreet (Sue) of Marietta; daughter-in-law, Malline Overstreet of Fayetteville; grandchildren Dawn Overstreet Horner (Tim) of Fayetteville, Ga., Paul Overstreet (Lisa) of Hamilton, Ga., Cameron Overstreet and Abby Overstreet of Marietta, Ga., Chris Stephens of Bowdon, Ga., Amy Stephens Lanier (Vance) of Villa Rica Ga., Jill Stephens Brown of Newnan, and Margaret Webb Mulkey (Tim) of Lawtey, Fl.; 29 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, with another due in October. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class, which she dearly loved. Because of her strong Christian influence, her husband and descendants have come to know Jesus on a personal basis. Pall bearers will be Paul Overstreet, Chris Stephens, Tim Horner, Vance Lanier, Jeremiah Neal, and Tim van Splunter. The family wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice for their gentle, loving care and guidance.
