Deaconess Ophelia Saffold passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.

Deaconess Saffold was born on Saturday, August 14, 1937 to Joseph and Ruby Warren in Brunswick, Georgia.  She attended the Hillsborough County Public Schools and was converted at an early age at Mt.

On Saturday, November 21, 1953, she was joined in matrimony to the love of her life, Ulysses Grant Saffold, Sr. and the families were blended.  A Godly woman who loved and supported her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whenever needed.

Deaconess Saffold’s favorite scripture was Psalm 71 and her favorite hymn was “Jesus I Love Calling Your Name” by Shirley Caesar. 

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Joseph and Ruby Warren; husband, Ulysses Grant Saffold, Sr.; two daughters, Hariena Saffold and Brenda Joyce Coney; three sons, Curtis Chambers, Ulysses Grant Saffold Jr. and Darrell Keaton; two granddaughters, Alexis Johnson and Michelle Govantes; grandson, Kevin Allen; four brothers, Joseph Warren, Jimmy Warren, Columbus Warren and Henry Warren; five sisters, Inez Harmon, Mary Ella Watson, Lula Mae Watson, Marie Lewis and Annie R. Tramel.

She leaves to cherish her sweet loving memories to:  two daughters, Linda Freeman (Raymond) of Tampa and Elizabeth Saffold of Bowie, MD; two sons,  Manzy Saffold (Debra) of Tampa and Delton Trent Saffold of Tampa; sister, Laurine Jacobs; grandchildren, Hariena Ashwood (Alonzo), Monsandto Perry, Ulysses Javon Saffold, Manzy Saffold Jr., Lamesha Park, Bamesha Park, Brittney Wright, Rowshawn Saffold, Shamillia Saffold, Daryl Allen, Kenneth Allen, Deanna Coney, Chabrenda Coney, Christy Coney, Charles Coney Jr., and Charleston Coney; a host of great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Anita Warren and Wilma Warren, all of Tampa; three Godsons, Kenneth Matthews, Arthur Russell and Lorenza Williams; special nephew, Reverend Lores Henry Saffold and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
