OPHELIA COLEMAN, resident of Los Angeles, California passed away Wednesday November 18, 2009 at the Broadman Medical Center in Culver City, California.

Ophelia was born in Dallas, Texas to Sarah Patterson and James Anderson. She grew up in Austin, Texas and went to school there and later moved to Los Angeles where she attended P.C.C. Jr. College. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized and was a faithful member for eighteen years at Eternal Hope Baptist Church. There, she was the president of the missionary Society, was a Sunday School teacher and worked with the prayer board for eighteen years. Later she united with Mt. Sinai Baptist Church where she was a faithful member and worked with the Sunday School, Ruth Circle and the prayer board.

She leaves to cherish her memories Mrs. Toni Morris, Mrs. Bertha Mae Stearns, both sisters who are living in Los Angeles, CA; Edward Lee Wells, brother from Mineral Wells, TX; Jimmy Walker, brother from Los Angeles, CA, Johnny Walker, brother from Long Beach, CA; daughters, Pontia Lewis and Lillie Anderson; grandson, Leonard Esters III; nephew Michael Terry and numerous other nephews and nieces. She will be united with her loving mother, Mrs. Sarah Walker, a sister, Mrs. Leathy Haynes, nephew, Herman Poole who preceded her in death.
