Opal Virginia Kanne, 93, of Freeport, died Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Stephenson Nursing Center. Born October 6, 1916, in Freeport she was the daughter of Leslie and Edith (Herman) Askey.
She married William Kostenbader on May 16, 1936, and he died on May 28, 1968. She married Stanley Kanne on September 28, 1970, and he preceded her in death.
Surviving is her son, Perry (Sharon) Kostenbader of Freeport; 1 granddaughter, Amy (Randy) Fisher of Freeport; 2 great-grandsons, Zachary and Matthew Fisher. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; 2 sisters, Ruby Geiseman and June Murphy.
