            Muncie-Opal Marceil Hartley-Lane, 94, passed away Friday evening, October 7, 2011, following an extended illness at the Morrison Woods Health Care Center. She was born on, June 24, 1917, in Bryant, Indiana, the daughter of Perry and Ruby (McMichael) Denny.

            Opal married Rev. William D. Hartley in 1931 and they enjoyed 47 yrs. of marriage together, he preceded her in death in 1978 and then married Rev. Arthur Lane in 1990 and he preceded her in death in 2002.

            Mrs. Lane had worked for The Ball Stores in their work room making drapery for 15yrs. Later, she would make draperies in her own home under the name of Marceil’s for 10 yrs.

            Surviving are two sons, Bob Hartley (wife-Jackie) and Joe W. Hartley (wife-Geneva) both of Muncie; five daughters, Bonita Posey (husband-Arvel Jr.),Ruby M. Nichols (husband-Bobby),both of Muncie, Pat Lehman (husband-Kenneth), Lakeland, Florida, Wanda S. Bean (husband-Bill), Tuscola, Illinois and Janet R. Reffitt (husband-Vernon), Valrico, Florida; two step sons, Paul Lane (wife-Jacklyn), Elwood and Daniel Lane (wife-Ann), Florida; two step daughters, Janice L. Shively (husband-Marshal D.) and Rebecca E. Hartley(husband-Wilbur) both of Elwood; two sisters, Marge Clanin, Muncie and Betty LeMay, Circleville, Ohio; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren,

            Besides her two husbands, she is preceded in death by a son, Donald E. Hartley in 2010; her parents; three step sons, William , Donald and Arthur J. Lane Jr.; one step daughter, Barbara A. Goff; two brothers, Perry and Herbert Denny; two sisters, Vera McKinley and Treva Denny.
